Arrival of Molds & Progression of our Build Cycle

Arrival of Molds & Progression of our Build Cycle

On Thursday March 13th, 2017 our team finally received the next vehicle’s aerobody molds at the Automotive Innovation Lab! This was a huge moment for the team, as it marks our initial progression from the ideas and planning stage to the construction of our car. While we will continue to refine certain elements, the aerobody of our car is now set.

In addition,  three of our drivers recently spent time at driving clinics in Monterey to refine their defensive driving skills. This was a good opportunity for them to gain experience in making critical decisions at speed, one of the many components of driver and race safety that we emphasize throughout the competition. Overall, as we move forward into Spring Break, we’re beginning to focus on more practical details of the race. In terms of our build cycle, this starts the long process that will take place over Spring Quarter at during the summer when our focus changes from ideation to creation, and we’re excited to continue moving forward!
